BEYOND GENDER BIAS

In the past, farmers preferred sons over daughters because they could help with farm work, and in wartime, men preferred sons to carry on their legacy. This sexism has largely ended in recent decades, as women have gained equal access to education and job opportunities, proving themselves to be just as capable as men, and sometimes even surpassing them.

As we've seen in 2024, the United States has a female Vice President and presidential candidate, and 8% of national leaders are women. Despite these incredible advancements, we still hear stories about parents who believe girls should focus on household chores while encouraging their sons to pursue education and support them in achieving their goals.

As a writer, I believe it's essential to acknowledge feminist groups that sometimes go to extremes, misconstruing facts and triggering wild imaginations. Instead of taking sides, let's look at things fairly and allow both boys and girls to prove their potential without bias or prejudice. We should avoid advertising and leading the public to take sides .
