ITALY & SLOVENIA TRIP - PART 3
As I mentioned in my previous report, we arrived in Slovenia to mild weather and a beautiful city. However, after days of walking in 40-degree Celsius temperatures in Italy, I was utterly exhausted. I spent our first day in Slovenia resting at the hotel, unable to join any tours.
Lake Bled and Unforeseen Challenges
On our second day, we visited the stunning Lake Bled. It was a beautiful sight, and we returned to the hotel with high hopes that our struggles with unskilled tour guides and endless uphill walks were behind us. I'd been hoping to explore Slovenia's historical areas without the high temperatures hindering us, but unfortunately, my exhaustion led to me feeling unwell by dinner time.
An Unpleasant Dining Experience
Feeling ill and having missed lunch, I headed to a nearby restaurant, which appeared to be Arabic or Turkish, craving a kebab. I arrived ahead of the other travelers, starving. However, my attempt to order was met with an incredibly rude waiter. Despite me pointing to pictures and explanations on the menu, he pretended not to understand and angrily yelled that he couldn't comprehend my order. Insulted and frustrated by his poor attitude, I left the restaurant and returned to the hotel.
Heading Home
Today, we're leaving Slovenia for the airport. After ten exhausting days of travel, I'm truly hoping for a good flight home, unlike our inbound journey where I was uncomfortably seated between two toilets for the entire duration.
