NONSTOP ECHO OF JUDGMENT

Some people live with their mouths open forever, ready to cast a shadow on every light. It is a cycle of judgment that offers no room to simply be:

  •  If you stay inside, you are depressed; if you go outside, you are inconsiderate.
  • If you shop, you don’t know the value of money; if you don't, you must be poor.
  •  If you are happy, you don’t understand the world’s problems; if you are sad, you are a burden of negativity.
  • If you work hard, you are a slave to money; if you don't, you are lazy and a parasite.
  • If you are calm, they say you’ve never known a struggle; if you are angry, they abandon you for your "temper."
  • If you stand for what is right, you are a troublemaker; if you let it go, you are a coward who doesn't care.
  • If you are a writer, they say you are out of touch with reality; if you work in the fields, they say you lack the mind to lead.

This verbal abuse goes on and on and on—a constant noise to make sure you can't live a normal life or be in peace. It is designed to force you back to your past life, whether it was bad or good. That is what abusers like: they want to ensure you are never allowed to live by your own choice.
