Many parents and grandparents have obtained protective orders against abusive family members. Despite court recognition of their harmful behavior, these individuals – often with control issues and mental health problems – seek to regain control.
By repeatedly harassing and bullying, they demonstrate why protective measures were necessary. These bullies:
- Break into others' lives
- Manipulate neighbors
- Force victims to forgive and forget through deception
- Play emotional games
Movies and media often perpetuate harmful narratives, suggesting victims should reunite with abusers. Scenes of a character returning home, reunited with spouse and children , are misleading.
Justice must stop these forms of mental and emotional abuse.
