WE DON’T NEGOTIATE WITH BULLIES
I am sure you have heard the famous sentence, ‘We don’t negotiate with terrorists.’ The main reason behind that rejection is not about being careless. Negotiating with bullies and terrorists means we confirm it was the right approach and solution.
Most of those who plan and initiate terror, bullying, and abuse either have mental problems or, in a way, are victims of abuse and terror. Therefore, instead of finding a logical solution or trying to negotiate in a legal way, they mirror the treatment they received.
In such situations, we should examine each case more closely to determine if it is due to errors in laws and regulations, negligence and ignorance, or a deeper reason. Being a victim of abuse and torture may drive individuals to a point where they feel they must resort to killing and terror to assert their rights.
Authorities, human rights organizations, and the legal system should recognize that every human has a breaking point under pressure. Ignorance and negligence are pushing factors toward that point. After it is reached, whatever happens is not just the responsibility of bullies and terrorists; it also raises questions about the legal system and human rights.
